YOU ARE EFFECTIVE ALMOST EVERYWHERE ELSE
SOUND FAMILIAR?
Have you reread a two-sentence message enough times to notice which words they didn't use?
Have you drafted something, deleted it, rewritten it, and asked a friend what it means — and still not sent it?
Have you known exactly what you'd tell someone else in this situation, and been unable to do it yourself?
Have you sent something at 11pm that you'd have written differently at 9am?
HERE'S WHAT I'VE LEARNED WATCHING THIS HAPPEN
The people this happens to are rarely lacking insight. They can name their pattern. They've read the books. Many have done years of good therapy.
The problem is that uncertainty produces urgency, and urgency puts everything you know behind glass. You can see it. You can't reach it. So I built something short enough to use while you're activated, and structured enough that it works when your judgment is offline.
A feeling is real. Its explanation is a hypothesis.
You can feel rejected before any rejection has happened. You can feel abandoned while someone is simply busy. You can also feel unsettled because you're noticing something real.
All three deserve attention. Only one of them is a fact. The gap between those is where this playbook works.
IT STARTS WITH SEPARATING WHAT HAPPENED FROM WHAT YOU'VE DECIDED IT MEANS.
This isn't about becoming less sensitive, and it isn't about talking yourself out of what you're noticing. Sometimes the signal is real, and several sections exist specifically to help you tell the difference.
It's about the ninety seconds between your mind finishing the story and you acting on it. That window is the only place you still have options, and it's too short to figure out from first principles every time. The playbook gives you a sequence to run instead — six steps, a decision at the end, and the exact words for whichever of six responses the situation calls for.
WHAT YOU'RE ACTUALLY BUYING
Introducing
THE RELATIONSHIP SPIRAL RESET
Forty pages for the part that happens before you start typing: working out what happened, what you added to it, what you actually need, and which response you'll respect tomorrow.
Let’s take a look at what’s inside
↓
01
WAIT, WITH A DEADLINE
For when the cue is ambiguous and you're too activated to read it. Includes what not to do while you wait, and how to set the point where you reassess with new information rather than the same thoughts.
02
ASK FOR CLARITY
Seven scripts for when one direct question would end the ambiguity. One question, not five.
03
ASK FOR CONNECTION
For when the gap isn't information, it's distance. Seven scripts, including the one for when asking feels embarrassing.
04
MAKE A REQUEST
A formula and six worked examples. A request describes what would help; it doesn't ask your partner to eliminate every uncomfortable feeling you have.
05
NAME A PATTERN
For the thing that keeps happening. Structure, four scripts, and a warning about attempting this over text at midnight.
06
SET A BOUNDARY
Behavior, impact, limit, consequence. Five scripts, and an explicit reminder that regulation is not a substitute for standards.
The idea behind it
Not knowing where you stand is often harder than bad news.
What helps is looking again at what happened, slowing down, and choosing one next step.
This playbook is built around those three moves.
I'm not going to explain why you feel anxious for forty pages. You already know. This is the part that tells you what to do about it in the next fifteen minutes.
Write down what actually happened, before your mind finishes the sentence.
Run a thirty-second evidence audit on the story you've built.
Tell the difference between needing regulation, information, connection, a request, or a boundary.
Catch a message you'd regret, using five questions and about ninety seconds.
Say the hard thing more clearly when the concern turns out to be real.
Recognize your own pattern faster each time, using the seven-day tracker.
I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist. I work with people who hold a great deal together — a company, a family, a full life — and who are effective almost everywhere except in the moments that matter most to them.
The same conversation kept happening. Someone would describe a spiral in precise detail, name exactly what they'd done and why, and then say they'd do it again tonight if it happened again. Insight wasn't the missing piece. So I started building the thing they actually needed: something short, structured, and openable mid-spiral. This playbook is that.
ONE LAST THING
You're not trying to become unaffected. You're learning to stay connected to yourself while connection with someone else feels uncertain.
